We gave the media keys to a young lady from California to cover Nascar driver AJ Allmendinger.
She will also have the hard task of trying to keep up speed with Indy car driver Helio Castroneves.

Her goal is to be a writer in the future, so what better way for us to give Katie some real experience?
She will certainly have her hands full with the two drivers. Please read her articles here and feel free to leave comments. Another way we continue to give students unique opportunities and “the fuel for success."

Hi there! My name is Katie Richcreek. I will be working with the Fuel for Success program as a junior news reporter this spring, so I would like to take some time to introduce myself.

I am sev
enteen years old, a senior at Colton High School, and Editor-in-Chief of my high school’s news publication, the Pepper Bough. I'm an aspiring journalist, and have plans to pursue a career as either a print or broadcast reporter.
I took interest in journalism after taking a Journalism I class my freshmen year of high school. My experience with the Pepper Bough staff has been enriching and crucial to my interest in journalism. Although, my decision to pursue a career as a journalist was solidified after attending a high school journalism workshop the summer before my senior year.
I plan to attend Azusa Pacific University in the fall, with a major in journalism and a minor in political science. Following the completion of my undergraduate work, I hope to achieve my goal of attending Northwestern for my graduate work. My interest lies primarily in politics, international affairs, and sports.
I'm thrilled to be given this opportunity to work with the Fuel for Success team as a junior news reporter. I hope to use this experience to enhance my knowledge of NASCAR, and to expand my skills as a reporter. I look forward to working with other members of the Fuel for Success team, and covering the racing events in the upcoming season.
