Winston-Salem State University's Motorsports Management Program and FFS

Fuel For Success has joined forces with many organizations, but none has been as successful as the one shared with Winston-Salem State University's Motorsports Management program. This year in Fontana the WSSU students traveled to California to be mentors to the "Krew" kids in California. The California students were selected from within the Colton Joint Unified School District. Most of the Colton students were participants of the Shell Balloon Car Challenge.
The Winston-Salem State University students here (left)are in action. They are giving the younger students a tour of the entire race event and explaining some of the various careers that are found within NASCAR.
This was the first event that Fuel For Success and WSSU partnered on. The Colton students really enjoyed having the College kids take over the group.
The Colton kids (below) then went throughout Auto Club Speedway not only to see the fun things that they could get into, but also they listened as the WSSU students explained the behind the scenes details to the high school and middle school aged kids.
The groups are broken down into smaller groups so they could cover more ground before the start of the race.
The college students work with the kids at various tracks during year. They share with the younger students some of the various careers within NASCAR up close and personal.
If the Colton teachers could only get them to pay attention as good as they were with the WSSU students!
