About Shell Fuel for Success

Shell Fuel for Success has eight different law enforcement agencies throughout the United States working together with young Americans. These mentors share the exciting world of NASCAR Racing and expose them to various careers within the racing industry. The program is much more than visits to the race tracks. A wide variety of activities are constantly being implemented to reach out to the students, including design, coloring and Eco-essay contests. There are plans to have chemistry and other real-world experiments conducted by the students to share with other school districts via email and video. Scholarship gifts are also a part of our program and currently we are awarding to seniors like Devon Ducioame, pictured here, a $1000.00 scholarship from Colton Police as well as a Shell gift card that will help pay for gas through his first semester of college.

The program is under the guidance and dedication of Todd Smith, Colton Police, with resource support from Sport Dimensions and Shell.

The Kids are the Winners!

  • Student self esteem and self confidence is raised by the influence and interaction with the Officers, Education Leaders and Chaperones.
  • Healthy lifestyles and encouragement are promoted by the race driver and all the Police Officers.
  • Students see by example that hard work, following your dreams and a drug free life style can be very rewarding.
  • Underprivileged students are shown that we care and are given hope to keep going and stay focused in school, despite economical misfortune that they can’t control.

History of the Program

Kevin's Krew is the current name of the program. The group was dubbed Kevin’s Krew because of the willingness of NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick to help the kids and participate in the activities at various speedways. The program started in 2007 with a few students and has now reached thousands. The program is now being co-sponsored by several law enforcement agencies; Colton Police, Oakland Police, Columbia Township Police, Henry County Sheriff's Department, Avondale Police, Fort Worth Police, Phoenix Police and Dover Police Department. There are local programs in various States that help make this program successful.  A couple of those programs are the Avondale Boys & Girls Clubs and Atlanta Metro Boys & Girls Clubs.

 Events for 2010!!

  • First Grader Coloring Contest - encourages kids to do their very best at school and pay more attention to detail.
